Amita Batra is a story-driven artist who aims to be a testament to the fact that art is as boundless as the human spirit that embodies it. Formally trained in Kathak as well as ballet and contemporary vocabularies under various teachers, Amita's body language draws from the ideologies and techniques of both styles as well as her journey of diverse life experiences. Currently, Amita resides in Los Angeles where she is exploring the world of comedy/acting while remaining connected to her dance roots.
Credits include Broadway-bound Come Fall in Love - The DDLJ Musical (Hardipa/Ensemble), Amit Patel & Ishika Seth's Unearthed - Untold Stories of the Ramayana (Sita), NBC-Universal's Outfest (Choreographer/Dancer), New York Black Arts Festival’s Aladdin (Choreographer), Inertia an original work funded by Eryc Taylor Dance Company's NC Grant having premiered at Martha Graham Theater (Choreographer).
Outside of this, Amita aspires to remain connected to the world of humans around her through travel and creating her own independent work focused on human stories through her initiative – Boundless by Amita.
